I looked at the ingredients for Solgar Brewer's Yeast. It looks like the real thing. The next time I order brewer's yeast I'm going to try Solgar's.

Hello Tom,

Is this brewers yeast grown on sugar beet?

Regards,
Mickey.

This is the best information I can find on the product:

Solgar's Brewer's Yeast Powder
DESCRIPTION: A natural primary Brewer's Yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) that provides a source of amino acids, B-complex vitamins and more.
SOURCE: Most Brewer's Yeasts are derived from the fermentation of beer: Such fermentation involves using grain (such as rice or wheat) malt, active yeast and the dried flowers of hops. Although efforts are made to debitter the yeast prior to final drying operations, most Brewer's Yeasts are, nevertheless, left with a bitter odor.
After fermentation, the yeast is collected and dried using special techniques to preserve its protein, vitamin and mineral content.

But I think that the amino acid content of brewer's yeast is important for healthy hair. Brewer's yeast has a rich blend of the amino acids.

Typical Amino Acid Profile Per Serving
L-Alanine 1080mg L-Lysine 1170mgL-Arginine 750mg L-Methionine 270mg
L-Aspartic Acid 1710mg L-Phenylalanine 750mg
L-Cysteine 270mg L-Proline 660mg
L-Glutamic Acid 3330mg L-Serine 930mg
L-Glycine 780mg L-Threonine 930mg
L-Histidine 870mg L-Tryptophan 120mg
L-Isoleucine 750mg L-Tyrosine 330mg
L-Leucine 1230mg L-Valine 900mg

I use brewer's yeast almost every day blended in to either orange or apple juice.
