Hi Tom,

Curcumin or Tumeric?

Which is best to help combat hair loss?
Curcumin is mentioned in hair loss regimes.
It apperar Tumeric contains Curcumin, but is the Curcumin spice better on its own?

The yellow to orange pigment of turmeric is curcumin. This phytonutrient is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, but it has many other beneficial health properties too. I use it almost every day sprinkled on stews or steamed vegetables. I get it at a Middle-Eastern grocery near me. As soon as I open the small package I put it in a sealed container and store it in the refrigerator.

When the hair follicles of people with hair loss problems are examined microscopically, an inflammatory infiltrate is usually found. Perhaps a diet rich in natural anti-inflammatory agents will have a positive effect. I've seen no credible studies, though, that curcumin will produce luxuriant hair.
