SE and transplants

Post by clapton » Mon Dec 27, 2010 4:05 pm

Hi Tom,

I have been doing the SE for about 6 years, about 20-30 minutes per day. Im 30 years old today. I am absolutely sure that I would have been completely bald if i hadnt discovered the SE. This I know because every male in my family and relatives are bald and I was loosing hair starting 9 years ago when I also began propecia wich I ended after 2 years bacause of some nasty side effects.

Anyway, my problem has allways been the front. My front and temples have always been thin, and I allways hoped that eventually the SE would regrow it. About a year ago I noticed small hairs showing up along my hairline, but still, the front is obvious thin. The progress is EXTREMLY slow, and I am not sure that this progress will continue to cover my whole front.

This is why I was considering a hairtransplant using the FUE-technique to finish the front. But will transplants work together with the transplants? Is this a good idea? What do think of theese thoghts?

Thanks!

Sincerely,

Every male in my family is bald too - my father and all my uncles. But more than this - all the guys I went to college with are bald or in various stages of hair loss. I think this really says something as to the effectiveness of the scalp exercise even though it is anecdotal. I'm happy to hear that you also had some degree of success with the scalp exercise.

You asked, "But will transplants work together with the transplants?"

Did you mean - Will transplants work together with the scalp exercise? I can't give you a good answer. With the older techniques of hair transplant surgery there was the posibility of adhesions - a holding together of layers of tissue as the wounds heal. There probably won't be any adhesions with FUE. People with scalp adhesions find it difficult or even painful to do the SE.

I'd like to know what kind of research you did in finding a competent surgeon. It's important to find someone who really knows what he is doing and who will not make your frontal hairline look ridiculous.

And how about SE with FUE transplants? is it good and not painful?
For someone who has passed danger levels with their mpb and is beyond recovery, a good hair transplant with SE for optimal hair health can be a boon.

I've seen the results of a bad hair transplant. It looks terrible. I'd rather have a shaved head. Shaved heads these days look good on some men and they are pretty standard. Many of the guys at the gym I work out in have shaved heads. I wish I could give you helpful advice on all aspects of getting or not getting a hair transplant but I don't have the required knowledge about this subject.
