I've been using that, and zinc for the last few weeks. Nothing to report as yet, although I'd be interested to see those who have lost hair because of it... |

Shedding might be a good sign it's working because Propecia and Minoidil do the same thing.Thats why we need people who have been using it for around 1 year to tell if it's slowed down there hairloss. |

Everytime I use it my hair falls out more. But more than that it makes my wavey hair straight and thinner in diameter(IMO). I havent used it more than a month so I couldnt tell you whether the shedding stopped after that much time. |

"Shedding might be a good sign it's working because Propecia and Minoidil do the same thing." Absolutely not. Only Propecia or Minox sheds are even tolerable. Anything else required immediate termination of usage. Those are the rules. I didn't write them. |

THats not know anonymous. Saw Palmetto hasnt really been tested for Alopecia. Hell, Im sure the initial sheds from propecia proboably led a few researchers at merk to blink early on too. Saw Palmetto is proven to help enlarge prostates, just like finasteride or propecia was a prostate hyperplasia medication before being used to fight baldness. Users seem to indicate it doesnt help with baldness so it seems to work another way than propecia. It hasnt been tested. I get the inkling that it doesnt work all that well or saw palmetto growers would have web pages with before and after photos of guys regrowing hair on the stuff, but they dont. Just about ANY efficious treatment for baldness would have an initial shed period as treated follicles would transition into catagen before re-entering anagen-phase (the growing one) as larger, darker follicles. |

Well, it could just be the possibility that Propecia is the prescription equivalent of Saw Palmetto plus some other things. There's lots of arguments that could be made leaning towrd either, so it's pointless to argue. |

Iv been taking Saw Palmetto, the powdered tablet form from GNC, and iv noticed a change after only a week. Small terminal hairs are popping up all over the place on my hair line. They are growing faster than normal too. |

I also forgot to add to my previous post, Iv also noticed an increase in body/facial hair growth. Does DHT also restrict this kind of hair? My dad isn't a hairy person, but he is bald. One of my older friends believes the hairier people tend to go bald. This isn't the case with my dad. My thoughts on this is that the hairier people have a naturally high level of testosterone, meaning more DHT production. Where as the unhairy people have a natural ability to produce a higher level of the 5alpha enzyme, which also means more DHT. But this is just a theory i quickly made up. |

My theory is that hairier people suffer from hormonal imbalances. They are not really hairy so much as there body hair is longer. That could be a sign of hormonal imbalance. Most guys that are hairy tend to keep hair up top, it's just miniaturized. |

No, but Avodart does... It was given to me by a very well respected doctor/scientist in Michigan. He is just one of the very few people that studied Avodart intensively and even though it's not used for MPB, he says it's perfectly safe to use the 0.5mg gelatin capsule. I'm a lawyer and have to look great in the jury room! :^) He and I play golf every Saturday afternoon. He's a very smart guy. His wife and my wife are in Europe right now. We're very lucky to have a great neighborhood with no crime because it's patrolled 24/7 by two on-duty policeman. Yeah, we're in a multi-million dollar sub-division. So, yes, Avodart is safe! If you want to e-mail me or have further questions, e-mail me @ john1@hotmail.com, but it can't be about a court case!! Haha God Bless |

Being a lawyer, i can relate to you John. We are constantly GQ'ing it up, as i like to call it, in the court room. Appearance is everything in the court room being that you are the center of attention during court procedings. Ask yourself, do you want to look at some fat, discusting looking slob all day if you were on the jury? I dont think so. And being that I too am going bald at age 32 I sometimes get nervous about my appearance. A lawyer, getting nervous, i know. Appearance anxiety really sucks. |

blah...who cares where you live. You don't sound too bright if you think you can take something like avodart and not experience any side affects. GL pal. |
