ey tom

i noticed that when i allow some intervals while doing the scalp exercise, a lot of vellus hair falls off. i mean a lot. is it bad or good?
(what i mean by intervals is after doing one motion, i count around 10 seconds then proceed to another)

thanks

tom,

also, in order for hair to become terminal, it has to go through the various stages of the hair cycle doesn't it... so vellus hair doesn't immediately turn to terminal hair, it has to become intermediate hair first. is that your point?

I'm confused. What do you mean by doing one motion, then counting to 10, then proceeding to another motion?. I really don't have any idea what you're talking about. When you are doing the scalp exercise correctly, it's best have a smooth flow of alternating contractions.

From your comment it sounds like you're losing a lot of vellus hair in the 10 seconds between your "motions." Wow!

I've written about the hair cycle many times. Vellus hair does not "change" into terminal hair. The hair follicles may reverse miniaturization when entering the new growing (anagen) stage of the cycle and produce either a terminal or intermediate hair, or it might just continue to produce a vellus hair. I explain this in detail on my Web site under the topic of male pattern balndess.
