hi, im 21 year old male and im concerned about the shape of my recession. My hair line seems abundantly strong right in the middle, at the front and then is severely diffused and receded on the normal recession areas so that it produces an arrow shaped hairline at about a norwood 3 level. I mean this hair at the front is the most dense strongest hair on my head (is that odd?) even compared to the hair around the sides and back. Also i have no balding/ thinning at the back/crown, is this odd?. As well i currently have a shaved head and i've noticed that where the hair loss protrudes in towards the middle at the front of my head (producing arrow shape) the hair loss seems to stop on a vain (is this odd?). As if hair is growing on one side of the vain and not on the other, except for the peak of the arrow.
Genetically, my dad has alot of hair - though it's white and on the other side my uncle is bald, though i think he had more diffuse thinning.
Diet - i eat alot of meat
I guess im really curious if i dont fix my problem if im headed for an "island" and if tom's exercise has a more profound effect on a particular type of baldness.
Lastly, i read that message about prostate correlation and i looked around the net about prostate problems and over - masturbation came up as a cause for hair loss
Over masturbation seems really arbitrary - they seem to set guidelines - like if it interferes with life, that's too much... not really empirical. Anyway, im also wondering if there are any success hair gain stories after retiring the right hand. I think im stopping masturbation just to see what will happen and moderate my sex life, i can keep anyone up to date if they care...
whoops one more thing - ive been receding since i was about 17/18, is there any point in seeing a derm dr or any other dr's to talk about hair loss?
Thanks J

I'll let others address your other questions, but I've always been skeptical of the theory that masturbation causes hairloss. It's likely an old wives' tale, like the idea that masturbation also causes hairy palms, blindness, etc. And of course there's that link with testosterone to give it just a hint of vague credibility. And why masturbation and not other sexual activities? I've been spanking the monkey more lately, sometimes up to 4 times a day, and my treatments continue to be more effective.

I think the only thing wrong with masturbation is one's own personal guilt about doing it. I know guys (I aint gay by the way) who masturbate 6-10 times a day and have some of the best hair a guy can have. The thing is, I think they are not ashamed and do not feel guilty about it and this lack of restraint spills over to not "stressing" about the hair or the masturbation. A lot of problems with masturbation are in the head, the one on top of the shoulders that is.
