Hey I was prescribed to take these. Not for balding but for ADHD, from a naturopath.

When I researched Choline+Inositol I found that it may "encourage hair growth as well as prevent baldness". http://www.diagnose-me.com/treat/T47006.html

Krill Oil is basically fish oil, I believe and I really don;t know what to think about that.

Advanced B Complex is:http://www.aor.ca/html/products.php?id=8
Essentially B-vitamins which according to some websites are good for hair.

What are your opinions? Im not smart when it come to this stuff. Is it good or bad do you think? Any information on any of these pills, because Id stop them in a second if they aren't good for my hair.

I know it's a great temptation to believe what the supplement companies write. Some of it is so "scientific." I take supplements myself even though I don't believe they are even one percent as beneficial to health as nutritional real food. (I don't consider brewer's yeast powder or cod liver oil as supplements; they are real foods.)

It's much better to get your B-complex vitamins from food if you can because the individual vitamins are easier to assimilate and as a bonus you get unidentified nutritional factors. I also suggest if you take individual members of the B-complex, you don't take too much. Too much of one member of the complex can throw out of balance the rest of your B vitamins.

"Krill Oil is basically fish oil, I believe and I really don;t know what to think about that."

This is an excellent supplement.

Thanks for the reply.
Im really hoping someone can shed some light on choline + inositol, as I think this can either be really good or bad... hard to say.

Thanks for reading this.

There is a close association among choline, inositol, and biotin. These members of the B-complex are found in brewer's yeast and lecithin. (A natural source of lecithin is egg yolk.) All three of these nutrients are essential for healthy hair, especially for the pigmentation of the hair.

If you take therapeutic doses of these, though, the balance of the rest of the B-complex is in jeopardy. For example, a therapeutic dose of choline over an extended period of time will induce a deficiency of vitamin B6.

The B-complex vitamins function best when taken together. I think brewer's yeast is a fantastic way to get the entire B-complex. Brewer's yeast powder blended with orange juice or apple juice is a good-tasting, nutritious drink.

Thanks, its really impressive by the way how knowledgeable you are on all this.

Again thank you for being so willing to help, I really appreciate that your putting your time into my issues.

I am fairly confused as to what I should do. Here is my situation.

These pills can either help, or lead to throwing out the balance of b-vitamins, therefore messing me up.

I'm not sure which way to go.

Tom if I show you how much of each supplement I'm taking would that help in knowing if I am overdoing it?

As of right now every day I am supposed to take 2 pills of Choline & Inositol (each pill individually contains 250 mg of Inositol, and 250 mg of Choline bitartrate).

As well I am supposed to take 4 pills a day of Advanced B complex

Tom I really do appreciate your insight, I don't think I could find anyone who knows more or is honest about health issues.

Thank you

You probably know that the supplement and cosmetics industries can be as creative as they want in making claims about their thousands of products. The FDA has limited control over the advertising of these industries. I'm not immune to the advertisements either and still buy supplements from Puritan's Pride, Swanson, TwinLab, and others - but I'm selective.

I'm not going to tell you what to take, but here's what I take at the present time: brewer's yeast powder, cod liver oil (both which I consider real foods), full spectrum E with tocotrienols from Swanson, kelp for iodine, and evening primrose oil from Puritan's Pride. I have a nutritious diet though. I get 99 percent of my nutrients from real food.

The nutrients from real foods are highly bioavailable and they are usually balanced. But more than this - real foods have unidentified nutritional factors that have not yet been synthesized and put in pills.

I know the lure of believing in the magic of pills and being seduced by the brilliant advertising the supplement companies create. I'd like to believe all this stuff too.
