I'm doing scalp massage and then the scalp exercises while lying on a slant board at about a 60 degree angle. The whole time it takes for my routine is about 15 minutes or so. I do this twice a day.

Can this type of inversion be beneficial for hair loss and perhaps increase the efficacy of the scalp exercises?

Anthony:

I like your program. When you do your scalp massage, do you actually move the skin of the scalp? That's the way you're supposed to do it.

I don't know if the 60 degree angle will increase the beneficial effect of the scalp exercise, but it seems logical that it would. Experimentation is the way to go. I don't like the idea of following one set regimen, even if the regimen is mine.

Hi Tom,

Yes, I do move the scalp when I do the scalp massage. I do it 2 ways...1) I place my fingertips on my scalp and move it in a circular motion moving the scalp skin all around over the scalp, then I'll quickly tug my hair for about a second all around, then 2) I'll do the scalp massage again only this time I'll stretch the scalp (ie. place my fingertips on my scalp and push up towrds the top thereby stretching the skin and making it more loose and flexible hopefully), then I'll quickly do the scalp tug once more all around the scalp.

After that (which usually takes about 7-8 minutes) I'll then proceed to do the scalp exercises (both the basic and the advanced).

I do all of this while lying on the slant board which hopefully increases the blood flow to my scalp while performing these techniques.

There is no abrasion between the slant board and my scalp as you mentioned there might be. Where my scalp lies on the board is below the area where my scalp moves from the SE.

Anthony:

What you're doing sounds ideal to me. Just make sure you do not tug on the hair too forcefully. A gentle grasping is stimulating; an intense pulling is damaging to the hair follicles. But I'm sure you know this already.

Yeah, I definitely don't tug too hard....it's a very gentle tug.
